Hi! I am 14 years old, and about a week ago I started getting really bad heartburn at night, the kind where it feels like your swallowing a knife when you swallow, and drinking water doesn't really help. If I take an antacid such as Rolaids, it temporarily relieves the pain, but it always comes back, and lasts through the morning until I have been awake for about an hour and a half. I have stopped taking the Rolaids because they are very bad for your kidneys, and I drink ice water before bed. I also have started sleeping on my left side, because I heard that doing so lessens the chance of the stomach acids coming into your esophogus. I read that a teaspoon of honey can help heal your esophogus and the ring around the entrance to your stomach(I forget what it's called), and that apple cider vinegar helps. So I was wondering what you have tried, or if you know of someone who has tried something that works that is natural and isn't Rolaids or Tums or anything like that. I also heard that drinking a lot of milk can cause heartburn, and I am a milk chugger, but too I heard that milk can help heartburn. Thank you for your help!

Resolved Question: Why so much heartburn lately? I'm only 23 years old!?

I am an overweight 23 year old female with slightly high blood pressure. I have lost 20 pounds over the last 2 months. I am not taking any medications and I have been on a low carb diet for about 2 months now. I also go to the gym 2-3 times per week and work out for about 45 minutes to an hour. I started that about 2 months ago as well. I smoked for the last 4 months but I am quitting and have not had one in a few days. Here is my problem. For the last 3 days I feel like I am having almost constant bad heartburn, bad nausea, and lightheadedness and I have no idea why. I eat right and I exercise regularly. I am overweight but I have never had any problems except for slightly high blood pressure since I am overweight. What could be wrong with me? Why did this start suddenly? I am worried I'm having heart problems from exercising or something. What do I do to stop this daily heartburn?

ok so i know this is nasty and i apologize...but i just woke up because aparently i inhaled some throw up or acid or something. im not sure what happened. i just woke up choking and when i breath out i get this horrible taste. and when i cough i have to spit because if i swallow it burns. when i cough then spit there is orange stuff. i assume thats because i had homemade chili last night...ugh. this is like the 4th time this has happened to me and i dont know whats going on. you would think the chili would give you heartburn or something but it didnt...acid just came up while i was asleep and i inhaled it. the only thing i know to do is keep coughin til i dont feel it in my lungs anymore and drink milk. does anybody know what this is or what i can do to help/prevent it? again i apologize for such a nasty question but i need help here. and no rude answers plz...dnt waste ur time. thanks!0K! ThANK Y0U S00 MUCH!!
I read that when you have heartburn during pregnancy it means you are more likely to have a hairy baby. With my first I did not have heart burn and he barely had any hair, with this one I have horrible heartburn and he is hairy :) Does this work for you? What do you think?
I am 24 weeks pregnant and thought I was going to get away with no/mild heartburn. Boy, was I wrong. Last night was the first time I experienced heartburn while I was pregnant and it kept me up all night. I even thought about driving to the gas station to buy Tums. Is it normal to have heartburn like that all night? If I buy and take Tums in the middle of the night will the heartburn subside so I can sleep ? I want to make sure I am prepared for upcoming heartburn so I can sleep!
