I had a total thyroidectomy about three months ago. I've been on Synthroid since then. I notice some days I get horrible heartburn, and never had it before. I've had no significant changes in diet, but could it have anything to do with the medication interacting with foods?

allow me to say that I ask about the synthroid vs. food b/c on the precautions for synthroid they say, "avoid calcium and iron for four hours within taking the medicine." Nothing to do with spaghetti bolognese, but thank you for the advice about the carrot. Very pertinent information.
I also think if anything, I'm hypOthyroid, because since my surgery I've felt tired, muscle achy, etc. Any thoughts on this?
