Hi! I am 14 years old, and about a week ago I started getting really bad heartburn at night, the kind where it feels like your swallowing a knife when you swallow, and drinking water doesn't really help. If I take an antacid such as Rolaids, it temporarily relieves the pain, but it always comes back, and lasts through the morning until I have been awake for about an hour and a half. I have stopped taking the Rolaids because they are very bad for your kidneys, and I drink ice water before bed. I also have started sleeping on my left side, because I heard that doing so lessens the chance of the stomach acids coming into your esophogus. I read that a teaspoon of honey can help heal your esophogus and the ring around the entrance to your stomach(I forget what it's called), and that apple cider vinegar helps. So I was wondering what you have tried, or if you know of someone who has tried something that works that is natural and isn't Rolaids or Tums or anything like that. I also heard that drinking a lot of milk can cause heartburn, and I am a milk chugger, but too I heard that milk can help heartburn. Thank you for your help!
